San Tan Mountain Regional Park is one of our usual stops. It’s easily accessible and a great place to escape to if you’re needing a nature fix.

We chose to do 1 mile out and back on the Goldmine trail. I love the wide paths and flat terrain on this one which makes it easy for little ones to do on their own.

There’s not a lot of shade, but the views more than make up for it. We looked for wildflowers and cool rocks and then turned around once the kids were getting tired.

On the way back to our car, we stopped at the visitors center to see the snakes and the turtles.
